This DVD features the following: A Visit To Beamish, The Living Museum Of The North: Beamish Museum is situated near Gateshead, a circular tram route links the various parts of the museum together, often running in both directions from the main entrance. Beamish has its' own fleet of heritage buses which supplement the trams, vintage cars, steam lorries, traction engines, and road rollers can also be seen in this chapter. Buses & Trains In Sunderland: Bus services in Sunderland are provided by Go North East and Stagecoach North East, the Tyne & Wear Metro also runs through the city on the South Hylton line. This chapter also includes a visit to the Nexus learning centre in South Shields where one of the new Stadler class 555 trains was on display. Buses In Filey & Scarborough: Bus services in Filey & Scarborough are mainly provided by East Yorkshire Buses. Competition on a couple of routes is provided by Shoreline Suncruiser Buses Ltd, Arriva North East also run into Scarborough from Whitby and Middlesborough. The Central Tramway Cliff Lift: This cliff lift was built in1881 and connects Scarborough town centre with the beach on the South Bay. The Scarborough North Bay Railway: This 20" gauge miniature railway opened in 1931 and runs from Peasholm Park to Scalby Mills on North Bay. The line has 4 steam outline diesel hydraulic locomotives built in 1931 - 1933 by Hudswell Clarke of Leeds.
