This DVD covers those suburban areas to the East and North East of London that were until 1965 part of the county of Essex. Towns such as Walthamstow, Leyton, East Ham, West Ham, Ilford and Barking once had municipal tramway systems which in 1933 (except Barking, closed in 1929) were absorbed into the London Passenger Transport Board along with the bus operations of the London General Omnibus Co. Today the trams and their succesor trolleybuses are long gone and under the Transport for London franchising system services are provided by Stagecoach, Arriva, Go-ahead, Tower Transit and Hackney Community Transport (CT Plus). This DVD journeys through Leyton, Walthamstow, Chingford, Loughton, Woodford, Wanstead, Ilford, Barkingside, Barking, Dagenham, Rainham, Romford, and Brentwood, where First Essex, and Ensgnbus also provide services. Quite a few different types of bus can seen including New Routemasters working in the Barking area on the only wholly suburban routes to use this bus.Several heritage days are featured including the Ensignbus running day in December 2016 and the recreation of route 10 from Victoria to Abridge in May 2017 using RT type buses. Subtitles, no commentary, enjoy the sights and sounds of buses London. Wide Screern, PAL (UK) system, running time 76 minutes. Excerpts from this DVD can be seen on Youtube:
